Count Down

It's been quite a week as we deal with the finality of 36 years of teaching. Making the announcement to the staff at my school last week wasn't easy. Later that day, sharing our plans with my class, letting them know that Friday, December 21 would be my last day of teaching was even more difficult. Today the 'new teacher' will spend her first day with the class. She'll find out why I say, "Welcome to Room 12, where the girls are beautiful, the boys are handsome, and they're all really smart kids."

Getting Ready is quite a task. It was good to have a snow day today, although Kathy had a substitute job. I, (Steve), was able to purchase tickets, get some visa issues taken care of, mail in completed retirement application forms and also contact the Social Security Office.
